A Noblesville City Council member is throwing his hat into the ring to replace State Representative Kathy Richardson who decided not to run for re-election.

Greg O’Connor, a 10-year member of the Noblesville City Council, announced he will run for Indiana State Representative in District 29.  Richardson is leaving the seat to run for County Clerk.

O’Connor has been a Noblesville resident for 30 years.

“I have worked diligently over the last 10 years for the citizens of Noblesville as a City Councilman. I intend to take the experience and knowledge I’ve developed over the last decade and apply it to effectively represent the citizens of District #29.  Hamilton County is a driver of the economic success of our state and I intend to work closely with local and county government to ensure ongoing job creation, economic development, and workforce development,” said O’Connor.

O’Connor served  two terms as Noblesville City Council President, Chair of the Finance Committee, an Economic Development Committee Chair and member, and as a member of the Plan Commission.

O’Connor says he has proven experience in areas of economic development, workforce development, streamlining budgeting processes, implementing quality of life initiatives and providing more education opportunities for the city.
