The head of the Indiana Senate says he is ready to scrap the ISTEP exam and replace it with a new test.

In an end of the year interview with Indy Politics, Republican State Senator David Long said the test has become so bad that it’s time for a new exam.  He says the exam is too long and should be shorten and the turnaround should be quicker.  He says lawmakers will have to discuss whether a new test should be created or whether to use an existing one.

Indy Politics also spoke to Long about road funding, the issues the state is having with meth and heroin as well as the future of whether sexual orientation and gender identity will be added into the state’s civil rights code.

You can hear Long in the Leon-Tailored Audio above.  The entire interview runs about 19 minutes.
