As Indiana lawmakers attempt to hire their own counsel to represent them in the sexual harassment lawsuit involving Attorney General Curtis Hill, they also spell out their own defenses as to why the state is not liable.
In briefs filed with the court obtained by Indy Politics, the attorney for the Indiana House and Senate says the Chambers have a legitimate interest in the outcome of the litigation, also since the Attorney General has criticized their initial investigation of the matter, his office is conflicted out from representing them.
They also underscore that the sine die party where the incident reportedly occurred was not a government-related or sponsored function.
